Freeze-dried crystalline dispersions: Solid-state, triboelectrification and simultaneous dissolution improvements

Abstract The charging propensities of freeze-dried samples produced from combinations Piroxicam (PXM) - a BCS Class II drug with d -glucosamine HCl (GLU) potential hydrophilic carrier were investigated in this study. Freeze-dried PXM:GLU solid dispersion prepared at different ratios and characterised using analytical techniques such as XRPD, DSC SEM. In addition, the dissolution rate triboelectric investigated. XRPD results showed that freeze-drying process crystalline materials which mixtures PXM polymorphs included monohydrate form. was improved dispersions due to presence GLU compared pure PXM: ratio 1:1(500) showing best all samples. Electrostatics have higher tendency for comparison (- 3.2 v 0.5 nC/g). an electropositive behaviour when content ?50% (w/w), whereas containing >50% (w/w) opposite electronegative behaviour. charge also confirmed handling through ordered mixture formations shows how powder well can be manipulated obtain desired outcome.
